NATIONAL AWARD FROM COALITION FOR RECREATIONAL TRAILS

The Trailhead and Trail Construction in the Shawnee National Forest was selected in the category of Public-Private Partnerships and Access to/Use of Public Lands to receive one of the Coalition for Recreational Trails’ (CRT’s) respected national awards for 2020.

COST SHARE AGREEMENT WITH FS WORK

Since 2014, the STC through a cost share agreement does a variety of different things working with the FS to improve and maintain designated trails in the trail designation project. With this agreement, the STC works with the FS to maintain trails. We can use our own equipment under this agreement.

TRAILHEADS

Creation of new trail heads. Expansion and improvement of existing trail heads.

PRIVATE PROPERTY TRAIL MAINTENANCE

These trails allow access to the trail system in the Lusk Creek area and the Hayes Canyon area. These trails allow the public to use them to access FS trails.

SUPPORT EMERGENCY RESCUERS

Donations to Pope Co Fire and Rescue to enhance their efforts.
